Ongoing Projects

Providing Psychosocial Support for Palestinian Women in the West Bank

The Rehabilitation Program is running a three-year project that targets Palestinian women from the different West Bank districts whose husbands were killed in the Palestinian Israeli conflict and were left on their own to struggle with and experience the brunt of household traumas and adversities. 'Providing Psychosocial Support for Palestinian Women in the West Bank' project is funded by the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and runs through April 2015 to March 2018.

Through this project, the Rehabilitation Program's teams provide psychosocial support and counseling services to empower 90 targeted women. These services enhance their capacity to recover, adapt to and develop coping mechanisms to survive the adversities they have encountered, as well as protect them and their children from the destructive psychosocial impacts that endanger their wellbeing. In addition, the project will work on improving the long-term capabilities of the targeted women through providing them with vocational rehabilitation services that include vocational assessment and career counseling which will eventually contribute towards improving their livelihoods as well as reducing their social and economic vulnerability.
