Funded by the European Union and DanChurchAid / Norwegian Church Aid. The project targets youth and societal groups and aiming at contributing to the development of resilient communities in East Jerusalem, that are able to withstand shocks and mitigate protection threats, while preserving the Palestinian character of the city. 

Specific Objective: Targeted community members are mobilized to participate and contribute to fulfil their economic, political, cultural and social rights.

Result: 5 community structures are organized, connected, and functional to manage and respond to risks (political, social, economic and environmental)

The number of beneficiaries includes all community members, as the interventions are for the common good of the community, examples of interventions are rehabilitation of schools’ facilities, clinics, roads …etc.


Key Achievements: 
Following a participatory vulnerability assessment training in 5 Palestinian in communities (Beit Duqqu, Beit Sourik, Biddou, Beit Anan and Qbeiba), community action plans were developed to meet the priority needs for each community. The intervention contributed to the following: 

  • Enhanced infrastructure to public facilities: the project contributed to improving the infrastructure to a number of schools, kindergarten and public facilities in the targeted villages:  for examples and not limited to, the project contributed to enhancing the health conditions at Malik Ghazi School in Biddou through renovating the sanitary units, the cconstruction of concrete stadium in Qbeiba Girls High school, conducting insulation works for Palestine school in Beit Sourik. 
  • Supplying furniture and equipment: For example, the project contributed to providing public garbage bins to Beit Duqqu and Qbeiba, shade benches to several schools in Beit Sourik, school chairs, sound systems, renovating and furnishing of the public educational center and public kindergarten in Qbeiba and other based on the communities needs assessment. 
    Covid-19 Response: The project contributed to providing medical equipment and personal protective equipment “PPEs” to the targeted villages. 
  • Capacity building: this included providing several training sessions in the targeted locations on First Aid, Civil Defence.
